About the Item

A refined Wedgwood bone china dinner service in the celebrated “Chinese Flowers” pattern, produced in England for the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation as part of its Williamsburg Commemorative Ware series. This elegant grouping includes four complete place settings, each comprising a dinner plate, salad plate, bread plate, teacup, and saucer, together with two additional matching salad plates, a desirable bonus for entertaining or replacement. Inspired by 18th-century Chinese export porcelain admired in early American collections, the pattern features hand-applied polychrome floral sprays in shades of rose, coral, teal, and soft green. These are offset by generous white space, a delicate blue inner border with foliate detailing, and scalloped rims highlighted with gilt edging. Crafted in England by Wedgwood, each piece bears the appropriate “Chinese Flowers” and Colonial Williamsburg marks on the underside. Graceful yet practical, this service is well suited for refined daily use, traditional or transitional table settings, or display in a china cabinet. The inclusion of extra salad plates enhances both utility and collectability, making this set especially appealing to buyers seeking a balanced and usable service.
