About the Item

Extremely rare set of ten plates with generous shape, fretworked sides and white glazes. Atelier Madoura is inseparable from the ceramic work of Pablo Picasso and its founder Suzanne Ramié. Energetic and visionary, she actively supported the pottery center in moving from traditional pottery, of which these plates are a full example, to Art ceramics. Her creations are recognizable by the simplicity of the shapes and the perfection of the enamelling. In a range of white and ecru more or less pronounced, these very simple pieces reinterpret the traditional forms of everyday ceramics and are part of the first collections created by the artist. They are in their original and natural condition and has not been subject to any restoration. Apart from the marks corresponding to the "pernettes" - accessories used for cooking -, there are 3 micro chips located at the back of 3 plates which in no way detracts from the beauty of these objects. Like all the Artist's pieces, it is signed with the stamp "Madoura Plein Feu" under the glaze.
