A exceptional, fine and impressive antique George III Newcastle sterling silver mustard pot; an addition to our Georgian silver cruets / condiments collection. This exceptional antique early 19th century Newcastle sterling silver mustard pot has a plain cylindrical form. The body of this antique Georgian silver mustard pot is encircled with bands of embossed decoration. The upper and lower rims of the mustard pot are encompassed with plain applied moulded borders. This fine mustard pot is fitted with a hallmarked hinged plateaued cover surmounted with a cast thumbpiece. The mustard pot is fitted with a C shaped silver handle, accented with a pendant drop design to the upper portion in junction with the thumbpiece. This mustard pot retains the original removable blue glass liner. The mustard pot is supplied with an associate Newcastle sterling silver spoon crafted by John Brown in 1826. This exceptional mustard pot, crafted by the renowned and collectable female silversmith Ann Robertson, is a rare style for a Newcastle silver example. Condition This antique Newcastle silver mustard pot is an excellent gauge of silver, excellent quality and in excellent condition. Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the body are all very clear. Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of Georgian silverware.
