This exceptional pair of antique Victorian cast sterling silver gilt grape scissors has a hinged scissor action. The handles of these shears are embellished with cast fruiting vine decoration, accented with tendrils, grape clusters and foliate designs, to oval-shaped fingerpieces. The circular hinged portion is embellished with a simplified rosette design. These antique grape shears are fitted with plain blades, with a rounded outer edge. These exceptional examples of 19th century silver flatware retain the original gilding.
