About the Item

Victorian Period, Coin Silver (.900) cup/mug, Boston, Ca. 1854, Vincent LaForme and Brother- makers. Retailed at Elson and Wolf in Boston. Cup is beautifully formed, having a a curved handle and a lovely scalloped design. The base is decorated with tiny silver beads. This bead motif is continued along the scalloped rim of the opening. Etched leaves decorate the lower portion of the cup itself. The cartouche contains the following script engraving: FHH Born June 20 1854 (see photograph for spacing of the engraving). The cup measures 3 1/2 inches high x almost 3 inches diameter across opening (widest point) x 4 inches wide from outer edge of handle to outed edge of rim of the cup's opening. Dark areas on silver are reflections. In very good antique condition.
