A fine and impressive set of six antique Georgian Newcastle sterling silver Old English pattern teaspoons; an addition to our silver teaware collection These fine antique George III Newcastle sterling silver teaspoons have been crafted in Old English pattern. The anterior surface of the terminal of each handle is embellished with the contemporary engraved initials ‘WIE’. Each spoon features an extended drop heel to the reverse of the bowl; this ornamentation is otherwise known as a strap drop. These Fine Georgian silver teaspoons, crafted by the renowned and collectable Newcastle silversmith John Langlands II, are exceptional examples of their type. Condition These antique sterling silver teaspoons are a very good gauge of silver, excellent quality and in excellent condition. The bowls of these silver spoons are very sharp and show little signs of use or wear. Full hallmarks struck to the reverse of each handle terminal are all very clear. An exceptional, fine and impressive set of six antique George IV English sterling silver Fiddle pattern tradesman spoons; an addition to our silver flatware collection These exceptional and rare antique George IV English sterling silver tradesman/sample spoons* have been crafted in the Fiddle pattern. The anterior surface of each spoon handle terminal incorporates the contemporary engraved initial 'MAG'. The reverse of each 19th century spoon has a rounded heel and to a pip to the handle terminal. By virtue of their size these versatile silver spoons could be used for a multitude of functions, including: pickle, mustard/condiment, small coffee spoon. These exceptional and collectable spoons were crafted by the renowned London silversmith William Eaton. NOTE: * Such a spoon would have been carried by a tradesman as a sample size, demonstrating at a small scale the pattern and quality of spoon available for production by the workshop.
