About the Item

Georg Jensen, salad set Viking. Elegant salad server set in 830 silver and bone, with handles in the Viking pattern. The set consists of a spoon and fork with softly curved forms and warm natural bone inserts. Produced by Georg Jensen between 1915 and 1930 and marked with the Danish three-tower silver hallmark. Origin: Denmark. Designer: Georg Jensen. Material: 830 silver and bone. Dimensions: L. 16 cm. Period: 1915–1930. Condition: Excellent condition with minor signs of wear. Georg Jensen (1866–1935) was a Danish silversmith and designer internationally recognised as one of the leading figures of Scandinavian design. He founded the Georg Jensen silversmithy in Copenhagen in 1904. Jensen’s work is celebrated for its organic forms and natural inspiration, strongly influenced by the Art Nouveau movement. His workshop quickly became one of the world’s most important producers of artistic silverware, and many of his classic flatware and silver designs remain in production today.
