About the Item

A Rare George III Caddy Spoon Made in London in 1814 by Cocks & Bettridge. The Caddy Spoon is modelled in the very rare elongated kidney form. The bowl displays an outer band of foliate motifs on a scratch engraved ground, surrounded by prick dot borders. The handle displays a shouldered base and various bright cut designs and a vacant prick dot cartouche. This spoon is in quite excellent condition and is very well marked on the handle. A similar form can be seen in "Caddy Spoons" by Captain John Norie, Plate 50, figure f. Additional information: Length: 3.25 inches, 8.13 cm. Width: 1.25 inches, 3.13 cm
