About the Item

Charming vintage set of 5 Tonala pottery napkin rings features angel shaped bodies, with angels' outstretching hands forming the rings. The angels' wings can be used to balance the figurines for different napkin placement; the little angels can be also used to arrange guest name cards, as they can be displayed standing. The napkin rings are decorated with hand-painted decor of floral garlands on angels dresses. The strong Folk Art element of the decor is juxtaposed by the Modernist shape of the angels. Bright cobalt blue and warm, earthy brown tones of the decor stand out against the steel blue or grey background glaze. Each napkin ring is signed by the artist on the back or on the base; the angels measure approximately xx" tall when displayed standing.
