An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Chinese export silver three piece tea service; an addition to our diverse silver teaware collection This exceptional antique Chinese Export Silver tea service consists of a teapot, cream jug and sugar bowl. Each piece of this silver tea set has a square rounded form; the teapot features a cylindrical neck and the cream jug and sugar bowl bear circular tapering upper rims. The surface of each piece is embellished with an impressive planish finish. One side of each piece bears an impressive applied branch bordered cartouche, ornamented with embossed plum blossom illustrations, incorporating perched birds to the branches. The other side features an incurved shaped panel ornamented with an iconic oriental undulating dragon design, emanating from cloud motifs. The teapot is fitted with the original domed hinged cover surmounted with an embossed silver finial modelled in the form of a dragon's head. This Chinese silver teapot is fitted with an embossed C shaped handle replicating the details of bamboo stalks. The sugar bowl and cream jug are fitted with silver handles reflecting that of the teapot. The surface of each piece is further ornamented with an embossed cloud decorated shaped panel, to the lower portion of each handle. The teapot features an impressive planished swan necked spout. The hallmarks struck to the underside of this antique Chinese tea set include: Maker's mark: ??? (Tu Qing Yun) Assay mark: ?? (Jiujiang, Guangdong Province) NOTE: We are grateful to Adrien von Ferscht for his help in identifying this exceptional antique service. Condition This antique Chinese silver tea set is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition. The interior of each piece has been professionally cleaned and is ready for use. The Chinese hallmarks to the underside of each piece are very clear. Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of antique Chinese tea set. An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Chinese export silver three piece tea service with bamboo handle; an addition to our diverse silver teaware collection. This exceptional antique Chinese Export Silver bachelor tea service consists of a teapot, cream jug and sugar bowl. Each piece of this silver tea set has a square rounded form; the teapot features a cylindrical neck and the cream jug and sugar bowl bear circular tapering upper rims. The surface of each piece is embellished with an impressive planish finish. One side of each piece bears an impressive applied branch bordered cartouche, ornamented with embossed plum blossom illustrations, incorporating birds in flight; this piece is double-skinned, as to be expected. The teapot is fitted with the original domed hinged cover surmounted with an embossed silver finial modelled in the form of a lobed gourd/bud. This Chinese silver teapot is fitted with a C scroll handle overlaid with an interwoven bamboo wicker, strategically interlaced to produce a segmented braided design. The sugar bowl and cream jug are fitted with silver handles replicating the details of two conjoined bamboo stalks. The surface of each piece is further ornamented with an embossed cloud decorated shaped panel, to the lower portion of each handle. The teapot features an impressive silver planished spout; the spout junction of the teapot and cream jug are perpendicular to the handles. An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Chinese export silver three piece tea service; an addition to our diverse silver teaware collection. This exceptional antique tea set/service, in Chinese Export Silver consists of a teapot, cream jug and covered sugar bowl. Each piece of this tea service has a circular compressed rounded form. The surface of each piece is embellished with fine and impressive applied bamboo stalk, chrysanthemum and iris designs. The upper collet style rim of each piece is plain and unembellished. The teapot and sugar bowl are fitted with the original covers surmounted with cast silver finials modelled in the form of a bamboo stalk; the cover to the teapot is hinged. Each cover is embellished with an applied splay of bamboo leaves. This Chinese silver teapot is fitted with a C shaped handle and swan necked spout, influenced with further bamboo ornamentation. The sugar bowl and cream jug are fitted with silver handles reflecting that of the teapot, incorporating a subtly scrolling lower terminal.
