About the Item

A rare and highly collectible Lorna Bailey Pagoda Garden Moon Teapot, produced at the Old Ellgreave Pottery in Burslem, Staffordshire, in 1998. This unusual moon-shaped teapot features the beautifully colourful Pagoda Garden pattern, incorporating a stylised Chinese pagoda surrounded by trees and garden scenery. The distinctive form, vibrant hand-painted decoration and early Lorna Bailey design make this a particularly appealing example for collectors of British studio pottery and unusual decorative teapots. The Pagoda Garden pattern was produced between October 1998 and July 1999, during the early part of Lorna Bailey's career at Old Ellgreave Pottery in Stoke-on-Trent. Pieces from this period are increasingly sought after, particularly examples retaining their original hand-painted decoration and signature. The teapot has a wonderful Art Deco-inspired silhouette and is both decorative and functional. Its unusual moon-shaped body gives it excellent display appeal, making it an ideal addition to a collection of Lorna Bailey, Staffordshire pottery, Old Ellgreave Pottery or collectible teapots. A particularly attractive and unusual piece in mint unused condition, with no damage or signs of previous use.
