An authentic late 18th century engraving from the celebrated Rossi series of Roman statues and fountains, drawn and engraved by Francisco Aquila and published in Rome by Dom de Rossi “Alla Pace con Pruil,” circa 1775. This finely detailed copperplate engraving reflects the Grand Tour era’s fascination with classical antiquity and the documentation of Rome’s monumental sculpture. The composition demonstrates Aquila’s precise draftsmanship and refined line work, capturing the sculptural form with remarkable clarity and tonal depth.
