About the Item

Finely quilted Irish Chain in which the white off blocks are quilted with a variety of patterns that include hearts and feathers. Stitched in two of the blocks are the name Mary and the date 1883 with the 3 backwards. The white background is lighter than appears in the close ups. The zig zag border makes the perfect frame. The quilt is in excellent, unwashed condition with some basting stitches remaining. Measurements are 72" x 84. Made in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia.
