About the Item

Double-sided hand-painted plywood advertising sign directing patrons to a downstairs bar. The stepped Art Deco-inspired profile features the phrases "DOWNSTAIRS BAR IS OPEN," "TO LADIES & GENTLEMEN," and "SATURDAY NIGHTS" in cream lettering against a deep red background with contrasting border accents. Constructed from painted plywood, the sign was intended for hanging or wall mounting and retains its original double-sided painted graphics. Its bold typography, shaped silhouette, and well-worn surface make it an evocative survivor from a mid-century tavern, hotel, restaurant, or social club.
