About the Item

German Fireman Puppet We are proud to offer a wonderful example of an early 20th century German fireman puppet / Doll. Hand carved with some lovely naïve Folk Art detail including a brass helmet symbol stamped Made in Germany. The head to mid torso, arms and legs are all hand carved from pine and partially covered in its original paint. The rest of this figure is straw filled and linen covered with cotton stitching. Original cotton shirt and pants are still in good condition if not a bit stained and weathered in areas. A lovely item with lots of character, this item does not stand alone as photographed. Size in inches: H 17” x W 8” x D 4” Date: 1920 Origin: Germany Condition: This 100-year-old artifact shows wear and tear in the form of chips, weathered surface, and loss of paint in areas shown in the photos provided. Please review all the photos provided as part of this advert.
