Made in Rudolstadt, Germany, circa 1900, this set comes in its original wooden box with printed paper labels and includes stone blocks and instructional booklets. Despite its age, this building toy is in remarkable original condition with only minor wear consistent with use and age. The wooden box is weak and the lid is broken, but this only adds to the charm and authenticity of this unique piece. The stone blocks have a beautiful patina that has been carefully preserved over the years. The anchor stone pieces used in this building toy are made from a mixture of quartz sand, chalk, and linseed oil. These materials are precisely pressed in molds to ensure that the stones fit together perfectly. The stones come in three colors that imitate the red brick, tan limestone, and blue slate commonly found in European buildings. In original condition, weak wooden box and broken lid with minor wear consistent with age and use in the blocks, preserving a beautiful patina. Anchor stone pieces originally were and are still made of a mixture of quartz sand, chalk and linseed oil, precisely pressed in molds so that they fit together perfectly.
