A beautifully primitive Himalayan apothecary or travel chest, handcrafted from solid wood and featuring six small drawers with an additional full-width upper compartment. The piece displays an exceptional aged patina with rich dark tones, hand carved details and original iron hardware, reflecting decades of use and character. Originally likely used for storing herbs, medicines, pigments, documents or small ritual objects, this compact chest combines practically with sculptural appeal. The hand crafted construction, irregular drawers fronts and worn surface make it a highly decorative collector's object with strong wabi-sabi character. An authentic and atmospheric piece that works beautifully in collected interiors, on a console, desk or as a cabinet of curiosities object. Wear consistent with age and use.
