About the Item

Ancient Fiji Islands Flat Serving Bowl or Platter 19th century, made of very dense hardwood with deep patina, and expected wear on bottom. Two small opposing holes for suspension. Bowl is 14 1/4" inches at largest diameter, presented on metal stand. Wear, polish and deep patina inside and out from traditional use. Simple, elegant statement of form. Can be displayed vertically in metal stand, or laying flat on a surface. Created 19th century or earlier. From early SW USA collection
