About the Item

A very rare Asafo Flag dating from the late 1930's . Created by the Fante people for the Asafo regiment. Woven in hand spun cotton and trade cloth . The image depicks the leopard protecting the fruit. The leopard represents the Asafo regiment and the black cat represents the robber. The proverb is ' the Asafo are here to protect every one. Beautiful embroidery work. The piecevis framed and under glass for protection. Total length 220 cm x 110 cm . A stunning example.
