About the Item

Circa 1970. We offer this hanging chandelier is entirely handmade in glass by artist Felipe Delfinger. The piece is composed of multiple fused and textured glass elements, suspended in a cascading arrangement that creates an organic interplay of light, color, and transparency. Shades of blue, dark amber, and yellow interact harmoniously, evoking natural forms such as droplets, stalactites, or flowing light. The irregular surfaces of the glass capture and refract illumination in a unique way, while subtle variations in each element—intrinsic to the artisanal process—make this piece one of a kind. Suspended from a metal chain structure, the chandelier balances sculptural strength with visual delicacy, functioning both as a lighting fixture and a work of contemporary art. About Felipe Delfinger In 1860, the German Delfinger family arrived in Mexico City, where they founded the Feders Factory. Felipe Delfinger took charge of the workshop and focused on developing advanced glassblowing techniques, working with unconventional recipes and formulas that went beyond traditional craftsmanship. Felipe’s work incorporated a wide range of materials, including brass, tiles, and various metals, all combined with masterful glass techniques such as blown, hand-pressed, and kiln-formed glass. This innovative approach allowed the Delfinger family to merge the magic of glass with distinctive materials and forms, creating a recognizable style that set new trends and established a design language with enduring character. To this day, the works of the Delfinger family continue to be admired and remain influential, valued for their craftsmanship, originality, and timeless appeal.
