About the Item

Largest and top quality, mint condition alabaster shade chandelier. Over the years we have offered and sold some of the best alabaster chandeliers, but never before were we able to purchase an alabaster shade chandelier this size with 6 mounted smaller alabaster shades. Finding an antique alabaster chandelier that is over 20 inches in diameter is becoming ever harder (this large center shade is 23.7 inches). And not only is it in the best color you would hope to find it in (black and white), it also has a relatively timeless design so that it can be used in many interiors, including temporary ones. Inside this enormous shade are two original sockets and another socket in each of the six stylized bronze torch arms. Since this unique pendant light has been rewired to the highest standard, each of the eight sockets will now take a 60 to 100 watt bulb. The bronzed metal chains are replacements that perfectly complement the stylish look and feel of this antique light fixture. You will be amazed when you see this large, handcrafted rarity in real life. We certainly were. Just like most antique alabaster pendants, this colossal, eight-light specimen too is all hand-crafted and they used the perfect alabaster rocks for these shades, because they come with several black veins, but also with numerous whiter veins and patches that have formed in this mineral stone over a period of thousands of years. And especially with the light switched on they come out in their full glory, making this pendant even more amazing. We could shoot many more photos, but you still would not be able to see the true beauty of this one of a kind chandelier. In real life (or in person) our antiques always have that little bit extra and this unique alabaster lfixture certainly is no exception. Both with the lights on and off its majestic beauty will never go unnoticed. Thanks to the bronzed chains we (or you) can also shorten the drop to one that is perfect for you. We can also make this pendant longer, because we have more of this beautiful chain. Thanks to the metal hook inside the height adjustable, antique brass canopy, safely mounting this alabaster chandelier tight to your ceiling (and over your junction box) should take no more than 10 minutes either. Although we would advise to do this job with a minimum of two adults. Over the years several interior designer clients have asked for an antique alabaster light of this size and we hope to be able to make one of them very happy with this rarity.
