About the Item

An exceptional ceiling lamp, designed by William Brand for his own company, Brand Van Egmond, a prestigious Dutch brand of luxury lighting. The model is named “Love You Love You Not,” like the collection to which it belongs, which was first presented internationally by designers William Brand and Annet van Egmond at the renowned Euroluce lighting exhibition in Milan in the spring of 2007. The design is based on the classic romantic game of plucking petals from a daisy (“he loves me, he loves me not”). It features a semi-spherical, sculptural design formed from a cluster of large flowers interspersed with points of light, which emerge from smaller flowers, further decorated with tiny crystal beads. In the words of the company itself: “The rose: a promise, a wound, a whisper of devotion. In its bloom lies both the ecstasy of love found and the pain of love fading away. Within the LOVE YOU LOVE YOU NOT collection, metal blossoms in fragility, and light caresses every curve like a whispered confession. The LOVE YOU LOVE YOU NOT round pendant lamp by Brand van Egmond, like a rose, does not choose its destiny: it simply blooms, radiant, unafraid of the hand that plucks it.” This round pendant lamp brings versatile brilliance to any space that deserves a sculptural accent: hallways and entryways, cozy spaces, offices, kitchens, and dining areas. Brand Van Egmond (1989-) The prestigious luxury lighting company Brand Van Egmond was founded in 1989 in the Netherlands by architect William Brand and sculptor Annet van Egmond, both graduates of the Utrecht School of Arts. From its beginnings in William's parents' garage, the brand was born with a clear intention: to create unrestricted art and redefine traditional lighting. They combined the structural vision of architecture with the volumetric sensibility of sculpture. The firm's workshop is located in the historic fortified town of Naarden, where they centralize the design, prototyping, and handcrafted manufacturing processes. Their work is distinguished by the handcrafted creation of luminous sculptures, using materials such as hand-molded metal, glass, and gemstones to fuse architecture, art, and lighting design.
