About the Item

Spectacular Dutch pendant with bold cut-outs and organic orange glaze. Spectacular hand-thrown ceramic pendant by Mobach (Utrecht), dating from the 1960s–70s. The biomorphic shade is dramatically pierced with rounded cut-outs, creating a striking play of light and shadow. The warm orange glaze enhances the organic shape and gives the lamp a sculptural, tactile presence that makes it a true statement piece. Marked “Mobach” on the exterior of the shade. Diameter: 28 cm (11.0 in) Shade height: 30 cm (11.8 in) Total height: 60 cm (23.6 in, adjustable by an electrician) Elektrisch 1 × E27 socket (LED recommended) 220–240V; can be used in the US with an E26 bulb/adapter Not UL-listed Wheel-thrown ceramic with orange glaze; black metal ceiling canopy. Good vintage condition with small marks and minor glaze wear consistent with age and the handmade process. Presents beautifully (see photos).
