About the Item

This refined modernist chandelier was realized in Murano, Italy- the island off the coast of Venice renowned for centuries for its superlative glass production. It features a conical body composed of a wealth of handblown Murano circular shades with opaque centers and translucent surrounds in a rich amethyst hue. The chandelier attaches to the ceiling via a lustrous chrome chain and a conical canopy that formally reiterates the curvilinear forms expressed elsewhere in the chandelier. With its unparalleled glass quality and clean modernist lines, this piece would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Mid Century Modern to contemporary. Its vibrant, yet subtle color is versatile, blending with a wide variety of palettes and offering a nice "pop" of color and verve to virtually any interior setting. The fixture has been newly rewired to American settings and is in excellent condition. The height can be adjusted to suit.
