This wonderful early 20th century chandelier is one of those rare and playful light fixtures that immediately attracts attention. The entire design is built around four stylized fish, each beautifully carved in wood and arranged around the circular body of the chandelier. Their curved bodies, pointed fins and hand-carved details give the fixture a strong sculptural presence from every angle. The warm patina of the wood combines beautifully with the golden, slightly iridescent glass shades. When the light is switched on, the ribbed glass catches the light in a very atmospheric way and reveals soft golden tones with subtle rainbow-like reflections. This makes the chandelier both decorative and warm, without becoming too heavy or formal.
