About the Item

Sculptural mid-century European chandelier dating to the 1950s, executed in a refined combination of dark-stained wood, brass, aluminum, and opaline glass. The design is defined by its elegantly curved wooden elements, forming a rhythmic, crown-like structure around the light sources. These sculptural wooden components are integral to the construction and give the chandelier a strong architectural presence. Six softly frosted opaline glass globes are mounted on slender brass arms, creating a well-balanced composition. When illuminated, the light is evenly diffused, producing a warm and atmospheric glow while preserving the sculptural clarity of the form when unlit. The chandelier is suspended from a brass stem and finished with an aluminum ceiling canopy, a detail characteristic of high-quality European lighting from the mid-20th century. The fixture has been rewired and is fully functional. The wooden elements show minor surface wear and small edge imperfections at the upper sections, consistent with age and use. These are subtle, purely cosmetic, and not visible once the chandelier is installed.
