1960s Spanish Mid-Century Brass Reading Lamp by Metalarte A refined example of Spanish mid-century design, this floor lamp was produced by the renowned Barcelona-based manufacturer Metalarte in the 1960s. Identified as Model 3396 by its original hangtag, this piece balances classic elegance with high functionality. The lamp features a slender brass architecture defined by its versatility. The central stem is telescopic, allowing the height to be adjusted from 114 cm to 175 cm to suit various seating arrangements. The horizontal arm also features an adjustable joint at the shade, permitting precise direction of light. A classic fabric conical shade diffuses the light, creating a warm, ambient glow suitable for a library, study, or living room corner. The design reflects the sophisticated, international style that Metalarte championed during the mid-20th century, comparable to Italian designs by Stilnovo or Arteluce but with a distinct Spanish character. Good vintage condition with authentic patina. The brass surfaces show signs of age and oxidation consistent with the period, adding to its vintage appeal.
