About the Item

Monumental Torcheres: Sandblasted Douglas Fir painted grey-blue with gilded ceramic bases. Inset brass light fixture. By Andrea Koeppel. Contemporary, two available. Measures: 81 x 14 ¾ x 14 ¾ inches. Models of understated luxury, Andrea Koeppel’s gilt pieces are made in the hand-coiled tradition and fired with oxides, then gilded in precious metals. She draws her inspiration from the pure and precise lighting design created by Alberto Giacometti and Diego Giacometti for Jean-Michel Frank. The resulting functional artworks are each one-of-a-kind and include custom shades and electrical components that are carefully considered design details. Andrea received a BFA from Pratt Institute, and studied at FIT and Greenwich House Pottery. Also an apparel designer, her clients included Takishimaya and Barney’s New York. Andrea's work is available exclusively through Gerald Bland.
