About the Item

Eye-catching Gilt Iron Sunburst Ceiling Light, Wrought iron, Gold Leaf France, 1940s. This monumental sunburst ceiling llight was entirely made in hand-forged iron and finished in gold leaf gilding. It has a terrific aged patina showing its original gold leaf. The central sphere is surrounded by wrought iron rays with primitive construction. This stunning piece is heavily adorned by the hammer mark thorough. It has a design inspired by Gilbert Poillerat metal works. Beautiful to be placed as ceiling light fixture. It could be also interesting used as a pendant hanging from a chain at the desired height. Manufactured at the Art Deco Period in transition to brutalist design with gothic accents. Newly wired.
