About the Item

Large scale French 1950's wall mounted swing arm lamp with a black enameled metal counterbalancing arm, large red shade made of red enameled aluminum dotted with round perforations, white enamel inside and a dome form metal mesh reflector screen with wire uno ring shielding a candelabra sized lightbulb. On top is a smaller goblet shaped perforated red aluminum shade with its own candelabra lightbulb. The multiple perforations cast fanciful shadows on the wall. This lamp is visually similar to the G1 lamp by Pierre Guariche for Disderot but architecturally quite distinct. 1950's production. There are scattered marks and losses to the red and black enamel finish which we have chosen to leave untouched. The shade of course can be turned so that its "best side" is showing. The counterbalance arm feels to me to be of insufficient length so without making any alterations to the lamp we have simply slipped additional lengths of brass tubing onto the black arm which can be telescoped to provide a greater degree of articulation. This piece will ship in a custom wooden crate
