About the Item

A striking pair of 1960s Space Age wall sconces, manufactured by the Italian lighting company Veca. These pieces perfectly embody the futuristic and geometric aesthetic of the Space Age design movement of the mid-to-late 20th century. Each sconce features a sharp, faceted, diamond-like shield constructed from thick, smoky gray and black tinted glass/acrylic panels. The panels are positioned to channel light, creating a dramatic, sculptural effect when illuminated. Housed within this outer structure is a central white tubular light source in perfect working order and a clean polished steel or aluminum frame, which is clearly stamped with the manufacturer's mark, "VECA MADE IN ITALY". This clear Italian provenance confirms their high-quality craftsmanship and period authenticity. When mounted, the sconces cast directional light up and down while allowing a subtle ambient glow to filter through the gray glass panels, making them an ideal, visually arresting addition to a modern hallway, entryway, or living space.
