B3 Black Wall Lamp by Disderot Limited Edition. Designed by René-Jean Caillette Dimensions: Ø 25 x H 23 cm. Materials: Laquered brass and gilt bronze. Delivered with authentication certificate. Made in France. Available in different colored metal options. Custom options are available on request. Please contact us. All our lamps can be wired according to each country. If sold to the USA it will be wired for the USA for instance. This lamp, originally designed as a floodlight before the invention of the spotlight, gives a strong light that you can focus. It can project its light downward for reading and for room lighting, or be adjusted upward to shine towards the ceiling. Its sleek design and beautiful lacquered metal and gilded bronze finish create a contemporary design, enhanced by a new range of colors. His perfect mastery of cabinetmaking and artistic skills led him to the School of Applied Arts, from which he graduated in 1937 to begin what became a dazzling career. He was a member of the most influential group of designers, won many prestigious prizes, and created a number of major pieces of furniture, which are now exhibited in museums throughout the world. He was a lecturer for 25 years and trained some of the best designers of today. The simplicity of his drawings is not that of ascetic minimalism, but the product of an ethics that knows how to combine beauty with the utmost discretion After studying engineering, Pierre Disderot opened his first studio in 1948. His collaboration with the young avant-garde designers, Pierre Guariche, JosephAndré Motte, Alain Richard, and Michel Mortier, led him to create what is today considered to be the best lighting of the nineteen fifties. His aesthetic abilities and knowledge allowed him to design an important part of the Disderot catalog, revealing, beyond the publisher, an artist of the first-order.
