Helium Wall Sconce in Translucent Glass & Helium Gas by Dace Sūna Dimensions: D 15 x W 30 x H 45 cm. Materials: Glass and helium gas. The glass tubing can be filled with helium (soft yellow-pink), argon (blue), krypton (white), or neon (red) gases upon request. Each piece is individually handcrafted, so slight variations from the reference photo are possible. A transformer is included, and custom sizes and drawings are available upon request. All our lamps can be wired according to each country. If sold to the USA it will be wired for the USA for instance. Please contact us. The Helium Sconce is a unique, organically shaped sculpture crafted from one-of-a-kind bent translucent glass tubing, filled with helium gas. Helium (from the Greek ἥλιος, meaning "sun") is a noble gas and chemical element produced in neutron stars like our Sun. Its naturally soft yellow-pink glow evokes the warmth and energy of sunlight, symbolizing hope and vitality. Dace Sūna is a Latvian designer specializing in the interplay of space and light. Her background deeply inspires her creations in spatial design, a profound connection to nature, and a fascination with the elemental forces of GAS, FIRE, WATER, EARTH, and PLASMA. Dace recently completed her MA in Contextual Design at the Design Academy Eindhoven. Her graduation project, Cosmic Dancer, earned the Latvian Design Award in the Spatial Design category. She also holds a BFA in Interior Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, which she completed in 2015. Currently based in Latvia, she shares her expertise as a lecturer in interior design at the Latvian Academy of Arts. Over the years, Dace has mastered a wide range of materials and techniques. While in Los Angeles, she refined her skills in neon-making and experimented with various materials, including plaster, wood, and clay. In the Netherlands, her conceptual SPACE & LIGHT installations seamlessly blended metal and glass, reflecting contextualized research-based projects on the interconnectedness of the universe. For Dace, design is a journey that unites nature and science, resulting in timeless, light-infused environments where every detail celebrates the magic of natural elements.
