UNICOGGETTO Zihan Zhao Born in 1990 and a graduate of the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan, Zihan Zhao founded UNICOGGETTO in 2021 as a space-art brand dedicated to the evolution of "Functional Art." His practice is defined by a long-term research project: the experimental manual intervention in mechanical production. This philosophy creates a dialogue between the precision of digital additive sculpting and the soul of multi-material composite craftsmanship. A prime example is the Khipu Series, where algorithmic foundations are transformed by intuitive hand-shaping, ensuring that every lighting fixture is an entirely unique, one-of-a-kind sculpture. Drawing inspiration from fluid organic forms and the refraction of light, Zhao’s work seeks a precise balance between design and sculpture. By investigating formal archetypes and innovative textures, he creates objects that possess a strong iconographic identity, free from rigid industrial schemes. With a strategic presence enabling simultaneous resonance in both Europe and Asia, UNICOGGETTO serves as a versatile partner for brands and institutions, offering a visionary product development and a precise spatial planning that bridges artistic intuition with global market impact.
