About the Item

Italian wall sconce dating from the 1950s, characterized by a slender geometric structure and a refined combination of black lacquered metal, brass and opaline glass. The fixture features a round brass wall plate supporting a tall black lacquered metal frame with an angular profile. The structure holds a long tapered opaline glass diffuser, suspended from the upper section and completed by small brass details and a shallow brass cap above the glass shade. The contrast between the vertical black frame, the warm brass elements and the satin opaline glass gives the lamp a clean and distinctive mid-century Italian character. The elongated glass diffuser provides a soft and even light diffusion, while the linear metal structure creates a light architectural silhouette when installed on the wall. The brass surfaces show a natural vintage patina, with oxidation, tonal variations and signs of age consistent with time and use. The black lacquered metal elements show minor wear and small marks. The opaline glass diffuser is in good vintage condition, with light signs of use. Overall in good vintage condition. Vintage original fixture. Wired, functional, and in working condition. Fitted with a standard E14 socket. Suitable for use in Europe and the US with appropriate bulbs or adapters, but not certified to current UL or other contemporary national standards. Professional installation recommended. Wall plate diameter: 12 cm / 4.72 in.
