About the Item

Red enameled metal rotating globe wall sconce mounted on an angular Gray enameled sheet metal bracket. The globe swivels to direct light, with a white enameled interior that reflects and diffuses the beam. The bracket is formed from flat sheet metal bent into a geometric cross profile, securing the globe at center. A white cord exits from the base of the bracket. Space Age lighting of this type flourished in the 1960s and into the 1970s, characterized by bold spherical forms, high-gloss enamel finishes, and directional functionality. The combination of an industrial Gray bracket with a vivid red globe reflects the Pop-influenced color sensibility common to Italian and European lighting manufacturers of the period, where form and color were treated as equal design priorities. Shown in original condition with visible wear, including light surface scratching and minimal enamel loss on the globe. The bracket shows light surface scratching consistent with age and use.
