About the Item

Striking pair of sculptural Brutalist wall sconces composed of hundreds of glass shards meticulously wired together to create dramatic inverted pyramid forms. Each sconce is constructed from stacked fragments of textured glass held within a delicate metal wire framework. The layered glass elements create a richly faceted surface that refracts and diffuses light beautifully when illuminated, producing a jewel-like glow. The construction technique and expressive use of fractured glass strongly recall the work of American glass artist and designer Danny Lane, renowned for his sculptural furniture and lighting using stacked and fractured glass elements. Both pieces display a powerful Brutalist aesthetic while maintaining a refined sculptural elegance. Their architectural geometry and textured glass surfaces make them highly decorative statement lights suitable for modern, collectible design, or eclectic interiors. Substantial in weight and presence, each sconce weighs approximately 3.6 kg (7.9 lbs), emphasizing the dense glass construction and handcrafted assembly.
