About the Item

A pair of late George III Told Peinte Storm Lanterns, circa 1810. A rare period survival, presented in original condition, with wear, marks, knocks and scratches as per age and use with old blue and green under paints visible. A note on the condition: The existing fittings have been re-wired and brass disks polished but the metalwork and glass has been left untouched. The metalwork could be cleaned and painted to specification or kept in the present condition depending on preference. The first image shown here gives the effect of further restoration, and the following images show the current condition in detail.
