Set of 2 Black Bloop sconces by Nick Pourfard Dimensions: D 15.5 x W 25.5 x H 25.5 cm (each) Materials: metal, glass. Dimensions may vary. Different finishes available. All our lamps can be wired according to each country. If sold to the USA it will be wired for the USA for instance. Sconces are sold individually. Pieces can be hardwired for professional installation or made with a wire lead and plug depending on install needs. If multiples are ordered, the units can be wired together as seen in photos. Hand blown glass lights that drape over handmade metal bases. The bulb’s own form helps balance and lock in safely on the base without hardware. Nicholas Bijan Pourfard is a furniture and lighting designer based in Southern California. Pourfard is completely self-taught in woodworking and machining, though he double-majored in industrial design and business marketing at San Francisco State University. He’s been building furniture and lighting for himself but only started promoting it this past year. Furniture design has its parameters, of course, but it’s allowed Pourfard to contrast the precision of measurement and the patterns of math with something more loose — organic shapes offset by angularity, like his Bloop lighting, where plump handblown glass blobs glow and rest on a base of geometric steel. There’s something companionable, a kind of friendly quality, to his pieces, whether it’s the warmth of his ceramic Mushroom lamps or his Box chairs, which despite the rigor of their form, still invite you to sit.
