About the Item

These unique wall lights are made from authentic terracotta tiles, originally designed by the influential French ceramist Georges Jouve (1910–1964). Renowned for his modernist and brutalist creations, Jouve is celebrated for iconic designs, including this iconic 'Inca' series from the 1950s–60s. The raw, unglazed terracotta stones reflect the distinctive aesthetic of Jouve’s craftsmanship, offering a tactile texture and sculptural presence. They represent a perfect fusion of art and functionality. Each light casts illumination both upwards and downwards via two E27 sockets, creating a warm and focused lighting effect. These striking wall sconces are an impressive addition to a range of interior styles—from sleek modern to eclectic. They offer a rare opportunity to bring a piece of historical design and artistry by Georges Jouve into your home. Ideal as a statement piece in hallways, living rooms, entryways, or any space where unique designer lighting is appreciated.
