About the Item

An elegant set of four Italian wall sconces, produced in Italy, early 1940s. Availabe 2 set of 4. Each sconce features a frosted glass panel finely etched with a stylized Art Deco–inspired motif, characterized by elongated vertical lines rising into a graceful fan-like flourish and resting on symmetrical scroll forms. The graphic decoration, both architectural and ornamental, enhances the diffusion of light, creating a soft, ambient glow while maintaining a strong decorative presence even when unlit. The glass panels are framed by vertical brass mounts with a warm, naturally aged patina. The clean, geometric structure of the metal elements contrasts beautifully with the fluidity of the etched design, reflecting the transition from late Art Deco to early Italian mid-century modernism. The refined balance between sculptural form and decorative restraint places these sconces confidently in the early post-war period. Italy, 1940s.
