About the Item

1970's Luxo Model No. LS1A Architect's Desk Lamp. With enclosed wrought iron base. On/Off switch on lampshade with Swiss wall plug. Max. 75W. In a neutral pale grey colour which would easily fit in with most interior styles. Maximum height: ca 78-80cm's. Luxo label's on lampshade and arm. Distributed in Switzerland through Regent AG with label on lower part of the arm. In absolute prime condition with minimal signs of use. Springs are all nice and taught. In full working condition. Luxo ASA is a Norwegian manufacturer of lamps, based in Oslo. With sales throughout Europe and North America, with production plants in Norway, Sweden, and Keila, Estonia. Founded in 1934 and was listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange in 1937. Jac Jacobsen, the founder of Luxo, invented the Luxo L-1 lamp (a modification of the earlier Anglepoise lamp). The lamp was the inspiration for the 1986 animated short film, Luxo Jr., by Pixar Animation Studios.
