About the Item

Large double lamp base in yellow ceramic with black decoration by the ceramist François Ré, Hélène Ugo workshop in Vallauris, with its double draped shade. Stamped “Hélène Ugo Vallauris” under the lamp and signed “M.F.R Vallauris” in black enamel on the side. Width with lampshade: 70 cm (15.75 inches) Overall height: 47 cm (27.6 inches) Height without lampshade: 22 cm (18.5 inches) Width without lampshade: 40 cm (8.7 inches) Story: Hélène Ugo was a renowned ceramist. In 1954, she and her husband Raymond Chastagnol opened the “Hélène Ugo” studio in Vallauris. Hélène Ugo shared her studio with other artists, who stamped their pieces with the Hélène Ugo studio stamp and signed them with their own names. François Ré, Michel Barbier, etc…
