Fine Early Delft Blue and White Table Lamp – Hand-Painted Ceramic, Brass Mounts A superb early Delft Blue and White table lamp, exemplifying the height of Dutch ceramic artistry. The finely potted, hand-painted body is adorned with the quintessential cobalt floral motifs, their vibrancy set in striking relief against a lustrous white ground. To the base, the authentic Delft factory mark confirms its distinguished origin. The lamp is mounted on a finely cast, openwork brass base with original solid brass fittings, the whole enriched with a mellow, time-earned patina which speaks to its age and provenance. The quality of the glaze and brushwork reflects the enduring reputation of Delftware — a tradition born in 17th-century Delft, inspired by Chinese export porcelain yet distinctly Dutch in style and refinement.
