About the Item

Rare French Art Deco Ceramic Vase mounted as Lamp , circa 1920 , by Alphonse Cytère (1861–1941) , created in Grès de Rambervillers Pottery Studio. This elegant and large Art Deco Vase presents a overall deep Satin Turquoise blue glaze w. brown splashes décor; its round body and elongated neck , now a lamp with gilt bronze mounts , stamped "Grès A. Cytère Rambervillers" on base . Professionally rewired Note : Rambervillers is a city in Alsace-Lorraine, in the Vosges region of eastern France, where Ceramist artist Alphonse Cytère established a studio. Cytère’s studio would create masterworks for leading artists of the 'School of Nancy', such as Louis Majorelle and Jacques Grüber. Its creations are internationally recognized for their unusual glossy, reflective glazes, an innovative technique known as ”grès flammés” . Such glaze technique allowed for vibrant tones and shifting colors in response to light. #collectible #Ceramic #Rambervillers #ArtNouveau # ArtDeco
