A striking Danish ceramic table lamp by L. Hjorth of Bornholm, dating from the early 20th century, circa 1920–1930. The lamp is distinguished by its elegant, elongated form and richly hand-painted decoration, featuring sweeping Art Nouveau and Skønvirke-inspired scrolls, stylized foliage, and floral elements in deep charcoal, ochre, and warm terracotta tones. The restrained palette and flowing ornament create a sophisticated contrast against the softly colored ceramic ground. The sculptural vase form demonstrates the characteristic combination of functional design and artistic craftsmanship associated with the L. Hjorth factory, one of Denmark’s most important ceramic manufacturers. The underside bears the L. Hjorth Bornholm maker’s mark and impressed markings. The lamp is presented without a shade, allowing the new owner to select a shade according to their interior. The lamp has been professionally rewired before shipping and is supplied with either a US- or EU-standard plug, according to the buyer’s location.
