About the Item

A spectacular pair of large table lamps designed and manufactured by the Rembrandt Lamp Company of Chicago. Standing nearly a metre tall, these impressive and super glamorous lamps with dark green velvet drum shades, are classic American Mid-Century Modern, and would have been the height of sophistication in Postwar America. The base and stem are made from brass, with an organically shaped cast metal black sculpture suspended in the middle. On top sits the original opaline glass diffuser, on top of which the lampshade sits, culminating in a pointed brass finial. Both lamps retain their maker’s label ‘Rembrandt Lamps Masterpieces’. The lamps have been cleaned and polished and professionally rewired to 240v UK spec, with antique brown three core braided cable, and a new pull-chain bulb holder. New green velvet shades included. Measurements: 98.5cm H x 50cm diameter. Lamps without shades 95cm H x 18cm w x 18cm d Rembrandt Lamp Company is a family-owned and operated business that has been designing and manufacturing lamps since 1910. The company started in Chicago, Illinois, and moved to its current location in Northbrook, Illinois, in the early 1970s. Rembrandt Lamp Company is the oldest and largest manufacturer of Tiffany-style lamps in the world. The company’s lamps are handcrafted using the same techniques that were developed by Louis Comfort Tiffany over a century ago. Rembrandt Lamp Company’s lamps are known for their beauty, quality, and craftsmanship.
