The founder Giò Colonna Romano knows this well, combining his fervent imagination with thirty years of know-how in the processing of plastic resins, giving birth to SLIDE in 2002. The first note of amazement is the luminous furniture, which immediately became a must have in the world of events. Since 2015, his son Marco Colonna Romano has taken over the reins of the company, with the same desire to grow and innovate as his father. Thanks to a new panache and the team of young people it surrounds itself with, SLIDE becomes a beloved company for outdoor furniture: new shapes, materials and tactile textures have won the hearts and ideas of architects and interior designers around the world. SLIDE has thus created complete collections and furnishings, with new shapes, whose lines arise from collaboration with internationally renowned designers of the caliber of Alessandro Mendini, Paola Navone, Stefano Giovannoni, Fabio Novembre, Marcel Wanders, Karim Rashid, Marc Sadler, Francesco Favaretto and Marcantonio. New materials were chosen and inserted, initially soft and rigid polyurethane, and then comfortable cushions, waterproof fabrics, tactile textures ideal for completing the polyethylene furnishings with taste and class. But SLIDE does not forget its first essence, lighting: in recent years it has developed a line of much more technical lamps for large areas, essential in shape but with great visual impact. For the first time, Slide has managed to give an artisanal twist to an industrial process: to meet the increasingly high demands of living, the production creates non-replicable shades, in which every small imperfection enhances the industrial process and makes each piece unique . Because Slide's strength has always been the careful reading of the market, the creation of something that didn't exist and which then became necessary: here Slide continues its production in Buccinasco, on the outskirts of Milan, but its name and its products reach more than 130 countries around the world.

This rare table lamp was designed by Vico Magistretti for the Italian manufacture Artemide during the 1960s. The lamp is made of red plastic. Dalù is one of the best designs to reflect the strict style of the great artist, who placed beauty and everyday use on the same level. Vico Magistretti was born in Milan. He attended Parini High School before enrolled in the Regio Politecnico Faculty of Architecture in Milan in the fall of 1939. In 1943-1944 he moved to Switzerland, where he attended several academic courses at the Champ Universitarie Italien in Lausanne. It was then that he spent time with Ernesto Nathan Rogers, who had a key influence on his intellectual education. In 1945 he returned to Milan, where he graduated from the Faculty of Architecture at the Polytechnic University. He immediately started working for his father's company, the architect Piergiulio Magistretti, in via Conservatorio. The 1950s were a very busy and fruitful period for the young architect, who came up with many innovative ideas and very quickly became one of the most outstanding representatives of the third generation. Over the next few years he worked as a designer as well as an architect, creating furniture and objects that will always be classics of contemporary production.
