About the Item

Rare to find Danish Mid-century ceramic table lamp designed by Marianne Starck for the ceramic workshop Michael Andersen & Søn (MA&S). The lamp belongs to the Negro series - also called Tribal series - and shows a stylized bird decor in sgraffito technique with white glaze contrasted by the almost black clay. Made circa 1960s. On verso marked the MA&S hallmark and the number 5465. Included is a new lamp shade designed in Denmark. It is made of woven fabric with some texture and it is natural white. It has a top cover so it will spread a cozy light downwards. Measurements: Height including lampshade (height can be adjusted): 50 cm (19.69") Diameter lampshade: 28 cm (11.02") Height with socket: 35,7 cm (14.06") Height without socket: 27,9 cm (10.98") Diameter base: 15,5 cm (6.10") Lightbulb: For type E26/E27 Edison screw-fitting. The lamp is made for Scandinavian outlet. If you use other plugs in your country you can either use an adapter or exchange it with a plug used in your country.

Mid-century Danish ceramic table lamp designed by Marianne Starck for Michael Andersen. Made circa 1960s or 1970s. The lamp is made from stoneware and has a matte blue and gray glaze with some beige elements. Due to the firing process the glaze has a unique expression and not one piece is identical to another. The lamp is marked on bottom and comes with the original MA&S papersticker.
