About the Item

A pair of 20th Century Onyx table lamps, carved from solid banded stone. Tall and cylindrical in form, each lamp displays the most amazing natural pattern and distinctive banding unique to the material. Onyx is a natural stone formed through the slow deposition of calcium carbonate which gives it, its characteristic translucency along with soft veining and layered colour variations. The simple form really lets the graphic, stone do the talking. When lit, they softly glow, creating a warm, gentle light. Perfectly sculptural when unlit. The lamps have been fitted with independent, removable lighting bases, newly made and PAT tested to UK standards.
